Terror On The Airlines: Kanye West “Fly Mob”

The dancers who participated in the Australian leg of Kanye West’s recent tour created what we can assume is the world’s first “fly mob.” It’s a flash mob that takes place on an airplane.

At first glance, this seems like a wonderful celebration of dance, dancers, and dancing. It shouts “fun.” I think there’s another way to look at it though. What if you’re that guy who is standing up in the aisle, your path blocked by a bevy of beautiful dancers? You know there’s only one reason you stand up on a plane—to get to the bathroom. All this guy wants to do is get to the bathroom and experience sweet release, and he knows he’s got to wait through Kanye’s “Runaway” before he can get there. He now hates Kanye West and all of Kanye West’s dancers. He also hate himself for taking that extra soda when he knew he didn’t want it. And he hates Virgin Airlines because the only way he can make it through this excruciating wait is to wonder which of the dancers are virgins. It’s terror in the air.
