The Best Ke$ha “Die Young” Videos
I am an unabashed Ke$ha fan. Her songs probably take 10 more brain cells to write than are required to appreciate her music, but they are… in one word… fun. You can’t help but have a good time listening to her songs. In her most recent music video for Die Young, Ke$ha plays the leader of a cult, which is much more appropriate than we ever thought it would be. We discovered that she has inspired hours of devoted creative output from kids and adults alike. Some of the results are good, and some are bad, but like Ke$ha, it all just seems to be fun. Here are some of our favorite videos.
These girls’ stop motion video is more fun and creative than Ke$ha’s actual video for this song. Take a minute to let their youthful exuberance remind you of what it actually feels like to be young.
These girls manage to do more to recall the 80s than any amount of lasers and glitter Ke$ha can amass. That’s the thing about nowadays– it’s so easy to make something so bad it’s good. Side note: What’s up with the Emperor’s New Groove product placement, girls?
This cover takes the song to a more R&B place. I don’t expect it to be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s just an example of what this song is inspiring in people out there.
On the flip side, there’s this song version which sounds like a song by a rock band in an 80’s movie, trying to make its big break.
Here’s a parody that puts a fun twist on the whole dying young theme.
Of course we can’t forget this video from the masters of music parody, Key Of Awesome. It almost makes the earlier videos seem less fun. Almost.
We’ve only skimmed the surface of what’s out there. This song has really struck a chord with people, people who have cameras, no inhibitions, and lots of spare time. If you’ve watched all these videos, you probably now hate Die Young… but can’t get it out of your head. We’re sorry.
