Taylor Swift Donates $250K to Kesha After Latest Court Ruling
If you haven’t kept up with what’s going on with Kesha, here’s a primer. Most recently, on Friday a New York judge denied a court injunction that would have allowed Kesha to record music outside of Sony Music.

Many recording artists and celebrities have voiced their support for Kesha, including Lady Gaga, Lorde and Demi Lovato. But Taylor Swift took it a step further — opening up her purse strings. “In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time,” a spokesperson for Swift wrote in a statement.
Back in 2014, Kesha sued producer Dr. Luke, accusing him of drugging, raping and abusing her. He denied all the charges with his lawyer’s saying she made everything up to try to get out of her contract with him and Sony. With the judge’s latest decision, Kesha need to record six more albums with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records at Sony Music before she can go to another label.
