Is Daniel Radcliffe Returning for Another Harry Potter Movie?
When Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was published, we all said a tearful goodbye to the series. Truthfully, it was sad but there was something that felt right about it ending. Author J.K. Rowling can’t seem to move on, however, so there are plenty of new tidbits being shared on a regular basis.
For example, this summer we will get a glimpse into Newt Scamander’s world and how he came to write the fictional textbook, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in a new movie. We will also get to see the North American equivalents of Hogwarts and the four houses.
There is also the new play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, that is opening in London. It focuses on Potter as an adult working at the Ministry of Magic and how his reputation has made life easier, and more difficult, for his own children.
Now, we have Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, saying that, although it would be a bit of a stretch, he’d be willing to put on his robes again.
In a recent interview, the 26-year-old explained: “The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary but then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo, and look what happened there.” Hopefully, we won’t have to wait until he’s 73 years old like Ford was in the latest Star Wars film.
It’s hard to say whether seeing Radcliffe in the role again would be a good thing. Surely, he’s changed a lot as a person since filming wrapped on Deathly Hallows 2 and that would likely show in how he approached the role. We could debate that all day but, in the end, it’s highly unlikely that any fans of the series would be able to resist buying a ticket.
All aboard the Hogwarts Express!
