Lindsay Lohan’s Parents Try to Explain Her Weird New Accent

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan has been acting since she was a little girl and even did a decent job of sounding like a little British girl in the movie, The Parent Trap. Still, when fans heard a recent interview outside of her Greek nightclub, they couldn’t help but be confused.

In a video that has gone viral (do yourself a favor and watch it if you haven’t already!), Lohan seems to go in and out of a new kind of accent. Once in a while, her typical American pronunciation would poke through but, for the most part, she sounded more like a Greek native struggling for phrasing.

Her father, Michael, who says that his famous daughter has plans to become a U.N. Ambassador explained: “Lindsay picks up languages like I pick up a coffee! I will tell you this, she’s spoken other languages on the phone with me — languages I don’t understand. I’ll be on the phone with her and I’ll hear her say something in fluent Farsi to a friend she’s with.”

What? That’s crazy if it’s true!

Her mother, Dina, echoed her ex-husband’s comment and said: “I raised Lindsay and all my children to constantly learn different languages and embrace different cultures. Since Lindsay was a kid, she was speaking fluent Italian because my mother is Italian and would only speak to her in it. She taught herself how to speak French, Arabic, Hebrew and the list goes on. Lindsay has a very high IQ and is very intelligent and can pick up on any language in a minute. She has that gift. She is a worldly person who has so many talents and so much to offer, and that’s what makes her so special and so beautiful.”

Anyone who speaks multiple languages can attest to this phenomenon, so the Lohans may actually have a point. If you have been immersed in a culture, speaking and hearing only one language for any length of time, you may sound a little wonky when you try to speak English.

Either way, Lindsay Lohan can’t seem to escape making a scene outside of a bar – drunk or sober!
