Some Celebrities Voting Are So Annoying

Look, don’t get me wrong. It’s great that celebrities are encouraging people to get out there and vote, it’s just super annoying when it becomes an opportunity for a photoshoot or, even worse, a lecture. It’s cool that people get passionate about politics but it’s a personal thing and everyone is allowed to have their own opinion.

What are we seeing on Election Day? Taylor Swift using a filter on an image of her posing while standing in line to vote. Just take a normal picture like a normal person and call it a day! For example, Karlie Kloss just shared a simple picture of her filling out her absentee ballot in her dressing room. It was effective without making it all about her.

Even better, Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, and Miley Cyrus simply shared images of themselves wearing the “I Voted” stickers. Keep it simple! Unless, of course, you are Anna Kendrick. She shared a torso of her torso wearing an “American Woman” t-shirt with the sticker on it. For whatever reason, that crossed the line to Annoying Town! Ugh!

And for every cute post, like Jason Sudeikis, Olivia Wilde, and their newborn leaving the polls, there’s a dumb one like Julia Louis-Dreyfus wearing a “Nasty Woman” t-shirt. You know, since this election isn’t contentious and ridiculous enough!

During this election year, most people have been truly conflicted and disappointed in the final two candidates. Are celebrities really that excited about their candidates? They must be as discouraged as the rest of us, right?

Either way, it’s important to vote so, if you haven’t exercised this civic duty today, get out there and hit the polls!
