Adele and Beyoncé Kept It Weird at the Grammy Awards
Did you guys see the Grammy Awards last night? There really weren’t too many surprises aside from the weirdness that went down between Adele and Beyoncé. Honestly, it was the strangest thing.
First of all, Adele was recognized over and over again for her incredible album, 25. She even ended up taking home the prize for Album of the Year. Clearly emotional when Faith Hill and Tim McGraw called out her name, she approached the microphone and explained how difficult it had been to return to music following the birth of her son, Angelo.
She then went on to say that she felt that the award belonged to Beyoncé for the lyrical album, Lemonade. The tribute was touching and even included a reference to Adele’s “black friends” (whom, she said, are empowered by Beyoncé). The awkwardness didn’t end when she left the stage, though.
While addressing the media, Adele held her Grammy, now in two pieces, and commented on the fact that she could now share it with Beyoncé. Even stranger, she spent the bulk of her press conference talking about how amazing Queen Bey is. At one point, she asked: “What the f— does she have to do to win album of the year?”
As if this isn’t enough, Beyoncé herself went all out with a confusing, bare-bellied performance in which she is depicted as a goddess of some sort. Some people thought it seemed satanic, some loved it, and many agreed that it was the ultimate sign that she and Jay-Z are definitely affiliated with the Illuminati. Oh well, let’s just blame the twins in her belly for the strangeness.
Meanwhile, Adele has mentioned wanting to get pregnant again so maybe she’s got some pregnancy-related hormones running through her veins. Otherwise, this just all seems very over-the-top.
