Walking Dead’s “Sasha” to Ruin New Star Trek Series
This is awful news. Sonequa Martin-Green has been a regular on The Walking Dead for a long time and, really, she was one of those characters that felt absolutely forced on audiences. Her acting is terrible, her plot was bland, and I literally celebrated when she killed herself on the season finale this past Sunday.

Now Martin-Green will be bringing her sub-par chops to Star Trek: Discovery and it’s really disappointing, especially since she’s being given a huge role – First Officer Michael Burnham.
While she is going to be second-in-command on the starship, she’s going to be the lead of the new series. WHY?! What does executive producer, Bryan Fuller, see in this woman? Instead of focusing on the ship’s captain, as is customary, they want to take the opportunity to tell “a different kind of story.”
Well, let’s hope this is worth it since the premiere of Discovery was pushed back from its original May start date to late summer or early fall to accommodate Martin-Green’s schedule on The Walking Dead. Honestly, a new Star Trek series already sounds risky enough so I really don’t think this show will last more than a season with this plot planned.
