Did Tom Brady Dump Trump for Gisele Bundchen?
It was quite a day for the New England Patriots this past Wednesday. First, they found out that former star player-turned convicted killer, Aaron Hernandez, was found dead in his jail cell (it’s been called a suicide but there are weird details and suspicions but that’s a whole other story…) and then Tom Brady announced that he wouldn’t be going to the White House with the team to see President Trump.

Let’s be clear, Donald Trump and Tom Brady were once so close, that Trump credited the athlete with helping him win the Massachusetts primary in 2016. He told the now-deemed “fake news” outlet, New York Times: “Honestly, in that part of the world, a reference like Tom Brady saying ‘Trump’s the biggest winner, Trump is a friend of mine,’ that makes an incredible difference. Tom Brady is a great friend of mine. He’s a winner and he likes winners. He was very helpful to us in Massachusetts on Tuesday.”
So what gives? Why did he bail on the team’s visit to celebrate their Super Bowl win at the White House?
In a written statement, Brady said: “Thank you to the President for hosting this honorary celebration and for supporting our team for as long as I can remember. In light of some recent developments, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters.”
Yeah, we bet! It’s not a huge coincidence that his wife, Gisele Bundchen, simultaneously tweeted her support for an anti-Trump protest on Twitter saying: “On April 29 in Washington, DC – March for climate, jobs, and justice. To change everything, we need everyone.”
Of course, there’s also this gem that came straight from Brady’s mouth just before the elections: “I talked to my wife, she said I can’t talk about politics anymore. I think that’s a good decision, made for our family.”
Happy wife, happy life.
