“Bachelor in Paradise” Gets Awkward New Rules
If you’re still planning to watch Bachelor in Paradise, things might seem a little more strange than usual between the contestants. The reason for this is that, in the wake of the scandal between Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson, ABC and the production team have had to make some changes.
First of all, contestants will only be allowed to drink a maximum of two drinks per hour. They will also have to hand over any drugs, legal or not. Okay, fair enough.
Secondly, anyone who feels like hooking up is going to have to get permission from producers. This includes the use of the “Boom Boom Room,” the indoor sanctuary where frisky contestants go to get it on. Now, before they can enter that love chamber, they must expressly state that they consent to having sex and the producer can either grant them permission or deny them based on whether they seem too intoxicated to make that decision for themselves.
Now that production has resumed, all contestants had to attend a 2-hour meeting with lawyers. TMZ is reporting that, if contestants ignore the new rules and get naked, producers will have to interrupt them and ask them if they are willingly participating in the sex act.
We can’t help but wonder if this is going to become an instituted policy at college campuses, all-inclusive resorts, personal homes, etc… Well, if it helps avoid another scandal…
