Wendy Williams Faints On-Air After Getting Overheated in Halloween Costume
Love her or hate her, you’ve got to admit that the footage of Wendy Williams fainting on-air was pretty scary. Donned in a Statue of Liberty costume, the talk show host seemed to slur and confuse her speech before getting wide-eyed, stumbling back and falling to the ground.
A guest can be heard screaming in the background as the situation unfolded and it’s easy to see why. Of course, some people might have assumed that this was all part of a staged performance for Halloween but Williams quickly recovered and addressed the audience to explain the situation.
It took six minutes for the show to return (which must have felt like an eternity to concerned viewers at home!) but the host appeared on-screen and said, “that was not a stunt. I’m overheated in my costume and I did pass out. But you know what, I’m a champ, and I’m back!” After the segment came to a close, Williams asked “Is that the end of the show? Was I passed out for that long?”
Wow! Fortunately, this all happened 48 minutes into her hour-long show (during which she had complained that she was celebrating this “under duress” because Halloween is not her favorite holiday) so she didn’t have to rally for too long. Hopefully, she’s resting and feeling much better.
